Deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used type of rolling-element bearing, designed to support radial loads and moderate axial loads in both directions.   • Precision grades: ABEC-1 (standard), ABEC-3, ABEC-5, ABEC-7 / ISO P0, P6, P5, P4 — higher grades mean tighter tolerances, lower runout, and quieter operation, used in precision motors and spindles.
  • Material options: Chrome steel (GCr15) for standard use, stainless steel (440C) for corrosion resistance, hybrid ceramic (ceramic balls + steel rings) for high speed and reduced weight.

How to Choose the Right Deep Groove Ball Bearing
  • Load — check dynamic (C) and static (C0) load ratings against your application’s radial and axial demands
  • Speed — match the bearing’s speed rating to your shaft RPM; sealed variants run slightly slower than open ones
  • Environment — choose 2RS for dirty/wet conditions, ZZ for moderate protection, Open if you supply your own lubrication system

These describe the seal/shield type. 2RS means rubber seals on both sides (fully sealed, pre-greased, maintenance-free). ZZ means metal shields on both sides (some protection, allows slightly higher speeds than 2RS). Open means no seal or shield, used when external lubrication is supplied.

Deep groove ball bearings follow ISO standard dimensions, so part numbers are interchangeable across major manufacturers. For example, a 6205-2RS from any of the following brands shares the same 25×52×15mm envelope:
